Ypsilantian and the Loch Ness Monster

Posted by ppna on January 7, 2008

It seems that in 1976 a 29 year old Ypsilanti resident went to Loch Ness to find the monster.  His name was Mark McPherson and it is said that he financed the trip with $3000.   He was unsuccessful but if anyone knows about this trip in detail please post a comment.

Ukulele to invade

Posted by ppna on January 7, 2008

The Ann Arbor Ypsilanti Ukulele Group will hold their January Meetup at the Corner Brewery Tuesday January 8th at 7pm. All levels welcome, bring music to share.

Here is video of the last Ukulele invasion at the Corner Brewery.

This event should be fun — I plan on attending and will even pull the Ukulele out.

Here are some of my favorite Ukulele bands.

Kanekoa — Maui based band that is Hawaiian fusion, They use a lead Ukulele player, Vince Esquire, instead of a lead guitar, and a rhythm ukulele.  Catch the videos on YouTube and become their friend on Myspace

Victoria Vox – She is a folky gal who put out a Ukulele based album. She does a great Ukulele folk rendition of Psycho Killer. Visit her on Myspace and YouTube as well.
